The Plastiscines = New Love!

Posted in Music by Jae on November 30, 2009

They’re beautiful, have amazing style (Part of Nylon Records, DER) and they make great music!

Let’s get down to Barcelona, I like romancing but I don’t wanna

Honestly, I love the direction of the Barcelona MV with all the freeze frames, especially the wicked cool part at 2:56

Wishlisted: House of Harlow 1960 – New Collection Pics

Posted in Shopping by Jae on November 28, 2009

Seriously Nicole Richie can do no wrong.

I’m an avid fan of her jewellery collection and can’t wait for her Winter Kate Collection to drop Spring 2010.

Here are some of her new fab pieces available January of next year:

This ring had me drooling at the mouth… if only it was a two-fingered ring. That would’ve been perfect. Also if it came in silver, and rose gold. *dies*

This bangle really caught my eye. Stunning. But she should really give all of her wonderful bangles a clasp so we have the option of wearing them past our elbow.

So cute, I’m a sucker for this old-fashioned stuff.

The wax seal accent just kills me. Also comes in red for those who want to be historically correct.

Seriously, fabulous. This would look awesome with a cuffed blazer and skinnies.

I can’t wait to see this necklace in person. I hope the scale of this pendant isn’t too large… it does say mini afterall… sometimes I find her pendants and rings too big. They would look more delicate if they were smaller.

More key-inspired jewellery. I love it. I have yet to find the perfect key necklace. I think the Tiffany ones are really amazing.. but I find them too clean-cut for me… I’m in the search for something a little more rustic… with a vintage feel…

This is the holy grail. I’ve been lemming for this since her collection came out… Seriously amazing… So… grecian. But at $500 I honestly can’t justify it.

OOTD #7: Grad Photos

Posted in OOTD by Jae on November 21, 2009

Yes, you heard right! I actually took my grad photos… more for  my parents then anything… I’m sure most of you can sympathize.

Didn’t intentionally wear this for the shoot because you have to wear a gown over whatever you’re wearing.

But I’m kind of glad I did because I didn’t know you had to take “casual” photos too.. you know those awkward poses… “The Thinker”… and demure feminine poses that for some reason, offend me.

It was so awkward. I think taking grad photos are a lot like taking the walk of shame, I mean they’re both awkward and they both involve you running out of the room with your clothes... of fun.

Betsey Johnson Sequin Stripe Dress

Posted in Shopping by Jae on November 21, 2009

I’m not usually impressed with Betsey Johnson’s line of clothing or accessories… they’re usually too colourful or gaudy for me…

But this one completely stunned me.

Straight out of a modern day fairy tale.

Absolutely gorgeous. DIES

By this picture I’m already thinking of ways I can sell myself.

Then I realized I don’t have anywhere to really wear this to…But that’s okay, I can wear it to sleep… or whatever.

Gorgeous. If you have $398USD. This is “wear” it should be going.

School has been awfully busy these past couple of weeks.

Dolman Sweater: Jacob, Tank: Garage, Jeans: Seven For All Mankind A-pocket in NYD, Pearl necklace: Smart Set c/o Cheryl ♥

This is probably my most worn necklace. Goes with everything!

Warning: These leggings will scare and confuse the average human.

A/N: I noticed that you can’t really see the headband in this shot, I’ll re-update this post with a pic of it later. It’s that awesome.

So today I wore one of my fashion terrorist items: legwarmers. I always get weird looks for wearing these out and I can’t understand why, they’re so functional!

I mean let’s say you’re wearing leggings with low cut Uggs, what’s going to stop COLD wind from just breezing into your boots?! WE LIVE IN CANADA! I have earned the right to wear them! *ahem*

Not to mention these have a fairisle pattern. How cute is that!

This weekend I finally bought the Metro Chic nail polish every beauty blogger has been raving about (e.g. lollipop26, fafinettex3). And I have to admit, it’s an amazing colour. Really unique, I haven’t seen anything like it, it can look purple, brown or gray under different lighting.

I also managed to pick up this TNA sweater… I think it may have been an impulse buy.

Halloween 2009

Posted in Random by Jae on November 2, 2009

So every year for pretty much my entire life I have wanted to dress up as something for Halloween, except I never have.

It’s usually because I don’t have time or I could spend time better elsewhere. So I apologize but this will not be a post about my Halloween costume. Although I really wanted to dress up as Itachi this year.

I’m usually in awe over the elaborate costumes people make for Halloween. I’ve seen some really great ones, for example:

This is my roommate as WonderWoman I can’t get that picture of Sohee out of my head. Believe it or not her entire costume was made from scratch. Now that is an awesome costume!

As you can see there are many great costume ideas out there so I don’t understand why I continue to see the plethora of naughty schoolgirls and nurses every year. Is Halloween an excuse for closet sluts to reveal themselves without being called out on it? Because to be honest it is degrading for the rest of us.
